In this church, you have daily mass in the English language. One of the special things about this church is the ancient bell. This is the second largest bell only after the golden bell in the Se Cathedral. Other two important cathedrals in this part of world are the Church of Bom Jesus and Se cathedral. In the basilica of Bom Jesus, you find the body of patron saint of Goa in a box. The body showed no signs of decay after death and was later kept in box under religious orders.

Temples of Goa

One of the famous temples in this part of the world is the temple of Shanta Durga. This is located on the foothill of Kavelam village. The construction of this temple started in the year 1713 AD. The deity is also known as Santeri. There is reference of this deity in the Puranas. Other famous temple of Goa is Mangeshi temple.
